This was the first-time representatives from the World Para Dance Sport Technical Committee will have held a course in Oceania.
The course was Facilitated by Diethard Govekar of the World Para Dance Technical Committee, with the assistance of Kerstin Govekar, President Wheelchair Dance Sport Federation Austria.
We were fortunate to be able to host the course in one of Western Australias most beautiful ballrooms, located in the Perth Town Hall, 601 Hay Street, Perth Western Australia. Thank you to the City of Perth for their generous support.
Para and Ability Dance WA would like to thank and acknowledge DanceSport Western Australia, who as the state sporting association applied for a Coaching and Officiating Grants Program from the Western Australian Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
This program provided support and access to development opportunities, higher level qualifications and accreditations for DanceSport coaches and officials. The program promoted and encouraged diversity and inclusion within DanceSport Australia.
The Western Australian State government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of this course. Sport and recreation create vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.
